ATCO Gas Redevelopment - Prinsep Road, Jandakot

The subject site comprises the ATCO Gas Depot on Prinsep Road in Jandakot.

The first stage of the project involved the relocation of ATCO Gas’ gas administration division from the Perth city centre, to the Jandakot Depot, via the construction of a contemporary two-storey office building, alongside their existing depot and workshops.

The second stage of the project involved the redevelopment of the depot and workshops, to provide new, purpose built facilities, to complement the new office building.

Element Advisory was appointed to provide ongoing planning advice and assistance in developing a clear approval strategy for the project. We navigated the application through the City of Cockburn, and the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage/Western Australian Planning Commission, in seeking and obtaining planning development approvals for the projects as “public works”.

This involved the preparation of comprehensive development applications to support the proposals in concert with the project architect, and project team comprising a range of technical consultants.

Key considerations included the relationship of the developments with the surrounding context, including groundwater protection, bushfire management, and site contamination.

Element Advisory assisted our client along with the project architect and consultant team to achieve development approvals via the Western Australian Planning Commission in a timely manner.
