Case Study
Perth Hub and Dorsett Hotel

The Perth Hub and Dorsett Hotel project at Lots 2 and 3a Perth City Link is set to become one of Perth’s foremost inner-city developments, delivering two outstanding architectural landmarks adjacent to RAC Arena.

The 32 storey Perth Hub residential development on Lot 2 will deliver one of the most connected and exciting inner-city living projects in Perth, with a total of 314 residential apartments and associated amenities.

The accompanying 22 storey Dorsett Hotel development on Lot 3a will offer stylish and contemporary short stay accommodation, with unprecedented access to Perth’s primary public transport hubs. Boasting 263 luxury guest rooms and clad with a fully glazed gold façade, the hotel is set to become an iconic landmark in the city skyline.

Element Advisory was engaged to provide statutory planning advice in relation to the applicable planning provisions, formulate an approvals strategy, and progress a development application through DevelopmentWA. Key considerations included notable variations to the Perth City Link Design Guidelines with respect to land use and building height, and the resultant need to ensure an exemplary standard of design that would make an outstanding contribution to the amenity of the area.

Element Advisory worked closely with Far East Consortium, Cottee Parker Architects and DevelopmentWA to refine the design and secure development approval for the project in 2018. This included successfully navigating the design review process and engaging with an extensive range of external stakeholders, including the City of Perth, Department of Transport and Public Transport Authority.
